Molalla skilled nursing and rehabilitation center to receive Leading Participant Award
VANCOUVER, Wash. – Prestige Care Inc., a leader in senior living and skilled nursing and rehabilitation care, is pleased to announce that Molalla Manor Care Center in Molalla, Oregon, has been honored with the Leading Participant Award from the Oregon Patient Safety Commission (OPSC) for its dedication to continuously improving patient safety, making a lasting impact in Oregon’s health care community and being an active member of the state-wide safety-reporting structure.
Each year, the OPSC reviews patient-safety reporting data and identifies leaders in the Oregon medical community. The leading participant award celebrates the progress that health care professionals and organizations have made in patient safety, and draws attention to the remaining challenges. Molalla Manor Care Center exceeded the safety reporting program's 2014 recognition targets and was the top performer among Oregon's skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers.
“Our number one goal is to create a safe, healthy environment for our patients at all times. A key part of fostering that environment is a willingness to proactively report patient-safety data to oversight agencies like the OPSC, so we are strong supporters of the Patient Safety Reporting Program and others like it,” said Karen Nettrouer, Administrator at Molalla Manor Care Center. “We are proud and humbled at this recognition, and will continue to deliver on our promise to provide the highest quality care possible.”
Providers become a leading participant by consistently reporting events when they occur, and in a way that effectively communicates how improvements can be made for the future. This reporting system allows Oregon’s health care providers to easily share information and ultimately improve patient safety.
Last year, the OPSC recognized another Prestige Care center, Timberview Care Center in Albany, Oregon, as its 2013 leading participant. The commission hosts an annual breakfast to recognize the top-performing centers in the program, and Molalla Manor will be honored at that breakfast on Feb. 27, 2015.
