Free Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Webinar Series in April

Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia can be incredibly challenging. We know how difficult it is to navigate the ups and downs of this reality.

To help guide you through this process, we have free webinars in April featuring David Troxel, MPH. David is an expert on Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia, and along with partner Virginia Bell, one of the innovators behind The Best Friends™ Approach – whereby a family member, friend, or staff member empathizes with their situation, remains loving and positive, and is dedicated to helping the person feel safe, secure and valued.

David will be presenting the free webinars in April featuring different dementia-related topics for those currently assisting a loved one living with Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia. You can sign up for the webinar series using the form on this page.

April 14, 3 p.m. Pacific Time: The Power of Communication in Dementia Care

We know that the language center of the brain is damaged by dementia, impacting the ability to process information. In this webinar, David will detail communication techniques and strategies to help the person feel safe, secure & valued, which also helps address dementia-related behaviors.

April 21, 3 p.m. Pacific Time: When to Choose Memory Care

This webinar will be a discussion of the value of residential care for people with dementia along with their family members. Specific topics include: the benefits of memory care, memory care vs. assisted living, when to make the move, how to make the move and how to have successful visits once you've made the move.

Along with the valuable information and insight that David will provide, in each webinar he will also give away five copies of the groundbreaking book, “A Dignified Life”, which he co-wrote with fellow dementia expert Virginia Bell.

You can also learn more about our award-winning memory care program Expressions, or find the Prestige Senior Living community nearest you.

I strongly recommend Willowbrook Terrace for any need for skilled nursing. My physical and occupational therapy six times a week was outstanding and fun.
