Our History

Great things often start from small beginnings; Prestige Care is no exception.

Although the company was founded in 1985, our origins begin four decades prior with the legacy of Sarah Delamarter, a pioneer in Oregon’s long-term care industry. Sarah first began using her nursing skills to care for seniors in her home back in 1946 as a means to support her family. As Sarah’s reputation spread for her compassion and care, the demands for her services grew quickly.

Her commitment to the care of seniors was passed down throughout the family, and Sarah’s legacy lives on through Prestige. Her grandsons, Harold and Dr. Rick Delamarter, as well as their business partner Greg Vislocky, now own Prestige and have grown the business throughout the Western United States while always keeping Sarah’s dedication to care as the top priority.

A Growing Family Company

Even with over 75 communities, spanning eight western states from Arizona to Alaska, Prestige remains a family company in the spirit of Sarah’s commitment to care; a complete senior care organization that includes 43 communities providing independent living, assisted living, and/or memory care, as well as 32 skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers.

Residents at our communities are not just people we serve, but valued and appreciated members of our Prestige family. At Prestige Care and Prestige Senior Living, our promise is to personally touch lives every day. It’s a philosophy of caring based on core values that are at the center of all that we do. We run industry-leading wellness programs that promote health and longevity in our residents, allowing them to enjoy life at every age.

Prestige is also committed to diversity, with many women serving in the company’s Executive Leadership Team across virtually all departments. Prestige has a strong promote-from-within culture, ensuring that our people continue Sarah Delamarter’s mission to provide compassionate care for our seniors.
