Puyallup, Wash. – Prestige Care Inc., a leading provider of senior living and skilled nursing and rehabilitation care, is pleased to announce that the Washington Health Care Association (WHCA) recently named Paul Mattfeld of Puyallup Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Puyallup, Washington, as Administrator of the Year. Mattfeld received the award for the outstanding level of care and exemplary leadership he brings to patients and staff at the local skilled nursing and rehabilitation center.
“Each day we are incredibly humbled by the compassion and care our staff put into their work, and Paul is a shining example of that,” said Harold Delamarter, founder and CEO of Prestige Care. “Paul represents the best of the best in this industry. We could not be more proud.”
Mattfeld began his career as a social worker, and has used his talents as a skilled administrator and director to transform Prestige Care communities throughout Washington state, serving centers in Spokane, Toppenish, Ellensburg and most recently, Puyallup. Mattfeld prides himself on bringing high quality care to residents across the state by providing respect, integrity, commitment and trust to both his patients and his staff.
The Puyallup Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has flourished under Mattfeld’s leadership. Since entering the position, overall operations have improved and the center has been consistently recognized for its achievements. This month the center won the Qualis Health Award of Excellence in Healthcare Quality, and in December 2014 the center received a deficiency free survey from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) – an achievement that less than 10 percent of centers across the nation earn.
“Paul and his team at Puyallup Nursing and Rehabilitation truly provide the highest quality care possible to our patients. We are proud to see that Paul is being recognized for his role in creating this successful, thriving skilled nursing center,” said Melanie Matthews, Prestige Care’s vice president of operations.
Prior to joining Puyallup Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mattfeld was the administrator at Royal Vista Nursing & Rehab in Ellensburg, Washington, where he led the center to earn Providigm’s Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Accreditation and a Tier IV Recognition from the American Health Care Association.
Mattfeld received the award on May 20, 2015, at the WHCA Annual Convention and Expo in Tacoma, Washington. For more information on the WHCA and its annual awards process, please visit www.whca.org.
