Misty Lohn Recognized by The Nation’s Premier Senior Living and Skilled Nursing Publication

Vancouver, Wash. – Prestige Care Inc., a leader in senior living and skilled nursing care, is pleased to announce that Misty Lohn, a regional nurse consultant for Prestige communities, has been recognized by Providermagazineas a member of the “2014 Class of 20 to Watch.”

Each year, Provider honors 20 health care professionals who have the compassion and vision to make a lasting impact on senior living and skilled nursing communities. Provider reviewed submissions from across the country before selecting only 20 final honorees for 2014.

“This is a well-deserved recognition for Misty. Every day, she exudes an inexhaustible work ethic and passion for creating a positive, healthy environment for colleagues and patients alike,” said Harold Delamarter, president of Prestige Care. “She leaves a footprint of outstanding leadership wherever she goes. We are incredibly fortunate to have Misty on our team.”

Since joining Prestige, Lohn has served as a resource for staff at all levels within the organization. She is currently implementing a Directors of Nursing Science training program for registered care managers within Prestige to foster knowledgeable, effective and compassionate nursing leaders in each community.

Lohn’s exceptional ability to engage and train junior clinical staff has inspired community-level leaders to excel in their roles and follow in her footsteps, using Lohn’s leadership style as a guide for mentoring colleagues at Prestige care centers.

Lohn is well-known among the nursing community for her skill in identifying the root cause of health-related problems and finding meaningful solutions for them. While the director of nursing services at Prestige’s Oregon City Health Care Center, she successfully created and implemented a fluid enhancement program for residents, which prevented numerous health problems related to dehydration and enhanced their overall quality of life.

Another Prestige employee, Melanie Matthews, was recognized for the same honor in Provider’s January issue. Lohn and the remaining honorees are featured in Provider’s February issue.
