The Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Ranked Among the Top 10 Percent in Washington state

CLARKSTON, Wash. – Prestige Care Inc., a leader in senior living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation care, is pleased to announce that Prestige Care & Rehabilitation – Clarkston, has been recognized as one of the top 23 skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers in Washington by Qualis Health, a nonprofit health care quality improvement and consulting organization.

The Clarkston center earned the recognition from Qualis Health, the state’s federally appointed Quality Improvement Organization (QIO), following an extensive, voluntary review period that compared performance across skilled nursing centers that participated in a quality collaborative earlier this year.

Clarkston performed among the top 10 percent of centers during the review period from February to July of this year.

“National and state-wide systems for quality improvement are paramount to ensuring that our industry delivers consistent, trusted quality care,” said Melanie Matthews, vice president of operations for Prestige Care. “As an organization, we are proud to take up this challenge and we welcome the opportunity to find ways to improve the compassionate care we provide our patients every day. Our goal is to personally touch the lives of those we care for, while providing the highest quality care, and we are honored to be recognized for our efforts.”

The National Nursing Home Quality Care Collaborative is an effort by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to systematically improve the quality of care for patients in skilled nursing centers across the United States. During the collaborative, centers assessed their areas for improvement, developed a framework for changes and reported incremental progress to the CMS and Qualis Health.

Qualis Health is a group of health quality experts, clinicians and consumers organized to improve the care delivered to patients receiving Medicare. QIOs work under the direction of the CMS to assist skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers with quality improvement and to review current quality concerns facing care centers and patients. QIOs work to ensure that patients receive quality, effective, efficient and affordable care.

Qualis Health was awarded the 2014-2019 QIO contracts for both Washington and Idaho. To learn more about Qualis Health and the health care collaborative, please visit http://medicare.qualishealth.org/projects/nursing-home-quality-care-collaborative.
