Vancouver, Wash. – Prestige Care Inc., a leader in exceptional senior living and skilled nursing care, today announced that its affiliate, Bristol Hospice - Oregon, has been named a 2014 Hospice Honors recipient for the second consecutive year. This prestigious annual honor recognizes the top 100 organizations in the country that provide consistent quality care to hospice patients.
The award, established by Deyta, a health care satisfaction management organization, reviewed family satisfaction survey results from more than 1,700 hospice agencies throughout the nation. During the evaluation period, October 2012 through September 2013, Deyta calculated hospices’ performance based on 18 satisfaction indicator measures. Individual hospice performance scores were aggregated for the evaluation period and compared on a question-by-question basis to a national average score.
“We are thrilled to congratulate Bristol Hospice on this great achievement for the second year in a row,” said Harold Delamarter, CEO of Prestige Care. “Bristol’s strong focus on family satisfaction is part of what makes them a great partner to Prestige. Hospice care requires the compassionate, values-driven care that’s so important to us, and Bristol delivers it in spades.”
Bristol Hospice - Oregon is a subsidiary of Bristol Hospice and Homecare - Northwest, which is owned by Prestige Care and nationally recognized hospice provider Bristol Hospice L.L.C. Together, the three affiliates offer a growing continuum of care guided by a family-centered approach to providing specialized clinical care to hospice and homecare patients.
Through the partnership, Bristol Hospice has expanded Prestige’s ability to provide comprehensive hospice and home health care to residents within its family of Portland-area senior living, rehabilitation and skilled nursing centers.
Prestige’s care philosophy is rooted in a promise to provide exceptional care, guided by a compassionate heart.
Bristol Hospice programs provide hospice services to meet the physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of patients, families and caregivers. Guided by Bristol’s holistic approach, an interdisciplinary group of professionals and volunteers develops an individualized plan of care that includes services like nursing, counseling, spiritual support, therapy and dietary services.
“Year after year, Hospice Honors establishes a new standard of excellence in the patient and family experience for hospice agencies,” said Liz Silva, Deyta’s Director of Hospice. “Commending top-performing hospices allows us to simultaneously recognize organizations that have demonstrated high quality of care to both patients and caregivers, and encourage ongoing industry-wide assessment and change.”
Deyta partners with thousands of hospice and other health care organizations to analyze and simplify care effectiveness data, providing consumers with easily digestible information to make knowledgeable choices when seeking a care provider and enabling care providers to convert data into continuous improvement.
