Portland-area centers are three out of nine Northwest providers to receive the awards
Vancouver, Wash. – Prestige Care Inc., a leading provider of senior living and skilled nursing and rehabilitation care, is pleased to announce that three of its skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers have earned the 2015 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award for their commitment to achieving the highest level of patient performance and health care outcomes.
The centers are: Oregon City Health Care in Oregon City, Oregon; Prestige Care of Reedwood in Portland, Oregon; and Discovery Nursing & Rehab in Vancouver, Washington.
The distinction is part of the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living’s (AHCA/NCAL) National Quality Award program, which honors centers across the country that progressively provide superior levels of high-quality care.
Prestige centers represent three of the nine centers in Washington and Oregon that received the awards from the AHCA/NCAL in 2015.
“Centers that earn a Silver Quality Award demonstrate a constant commitment to quality, striving to improve at every opportunity. That dedication guides our values-driven care philosophy at Prestige and we are incredibly proud of these three centers for their exemplary work,” said Harold Delamarter, founding partner and CEO of Prestige Care. “Silver Quality status shows the community that these centers represent the best of the best in our industry, and are committed to providing the highest level of patient care.”
The AHCA/NCAL Quality Award program involves a progressive three-step process to encourage continuous learning and development of integrated, quality systems to achieve performance excellence. Organizations apply for recognition and awards at three levels – bronze, silver and gold – each of which requires successful completion of the previous level, and a more detailed and comprehensive demonstration of quality integration and performance.
The centers became eligible to apply for silver-level recognition after earning bronze-level recognition in previous years. This year, 13 additional Prestige Care centers earned Bronze Quality awards.
As Silver Quality winners, the centers are eligible to apply for the Gold – Excellence in Quality Award – the most prestigious of the three. Last year only six centers across the nation reached gold-level status; this year’s Gold Quality award winners will be announced in the coming months.
Award levels are based on the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program criteria, which are a set of questions about critical aspects of an organization’s quality performance and management. The 2015 AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award recipients will be recognized at the 66th Annual Convention and Exposition, Oct. 4 – 7, 2015, in San Antonio, Texas.
