The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living Recognize the Top 77 Care Providers in The Nation
Portland, Ore. – Prestige Care Inc., a leader in senior living and skilled nursing and rehabilitation care, is proud to announce that Cascade Terrace in Portland, Oregon, has earned the 2014 “Silver – Achievement in Quality” National Quality Award for its outstanding performance as a skilled nursing and rehabilitation care provider.
The National Quality Awards are presented annually by the American Health Care Association (AHCA) and National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) to recognize senior living and skilled nursing providers that demonstrate a commitment to meeting the highest national standards for care and services.
Cascade Terrace is one of only 77 skilled nursing centers and assisted living communities across the country and one of four in Oregon to receive the Silver Quality Award.
“Earning the Silver Quality Award from the AHCA is a testament to the incredible work the team at Cascade Terrace puts into their tightly knit community,” said Harold Delamarter, CEO of Prestige Care. “The staff there and at all of our centers strive to provide the highest quality care every day; serving our patients and residents as if they are members of our own family. We are very proud of the Cascade Terrace team, as they help to set the standard for our company and for the industry as a whole.”
Cascade Terrace was recognized as a silver-level award winner for exhibiting patient-focused excellence, innovative management and visionary leadership. The award honors centers who also consistently exercise quality performance outcomes and provide values-driven care.
The AHCA/NCAL Quality Award involves a progressive three-step program to encourage continuous learning and development of integrated, quality systems to achieve performance excellence. Organizations apply for recognition and awards at three levels, each of which requires a more detailed and comprehensive demonstration of quality integration and performance.
Cascade Terrace became eligible to apply for silver-level recognition after earning bronze-level recognition. As a silver-award winter, the center is eligible to apply for the “Gold – Excellence in Quality” award – the most prestigious of the three. Last year only five centers across the nation reached gold-level status; this year’s Gold Quality Award winners will be announced in August.
Award levels are based on the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program criteria, which are a set of questions that measure critical aspects of an organization’s quality performance and management. The 2014 AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award recipients will be recognized at the 65th Annual Convention and Exposition, Oct. 5-8, 2014, in Washington, D.C.
