Wenatchee, Wash. - Prestige Senior Living, an industry leader in senior living care, is pleased to announce that Blossom Creek Memory Care in Wenatchee, Wash., recently completed a deficiency-free survey for the second year in a row from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the State of Washington Department of Social and Health Services.
A deficiency-free survey indicates that the community met all of the state’s safety and quality standards. Senior living communities and skilled nursing centers are evaluated by state officials following an extensive, unannounced survey, which is conducted on-site at a center over several days. Inspectors judge a community’s performance on safety measures, quality of care, medication management, hygiene, food service and much more.
Deficiency-free surveys are incredibly difficult to achieve. According to data published by the CMS in 2011, just 9.2 percent of communities nation-wide earned a deficiency-free designation.
“Prestige Senior Living believes in providing the highest quality care possible, while ensuring that each resident can live the lifestyle they desire,” said Tricia Sapp, the executive director at Blossom Creek Memory Care. “Our staff put residents’ personal preferences and wellbeing at the center of every decision, and that dedication to individualized, compassionate care is what puts our community ahead of the rest.”
Blossom Creek’s approach to memory care is designed around an award-winning, person-centered program called Expressions. Based on knowing a resident’s life story, Expressions integrates individualized attention and sensory-rich experiences for each resident.
Survey results and rankings from the CMS allow consumers to compare the health and safety inspection results of varying communities or track the improvements a particular community has made over time.
By rating senior living and skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers across the country and then publishing the results, the CMS has encouraged greater transparency between care providers and the public.
The CMS provides full reports on the nursing and rehabilitation communities it rates on its website here.
